2023 Legislative Summary

Dear Neighbor,

It is a privilege to serve you in the Maryland House of Delegates. This Legislative Session presented more challenges to the quality of economic, community, and family life in Calvert County.

The 2023 Session of the Maryland General Assembly ended on Monday, April 10th, at midnight. Maryland, for the first time in eight years, has a Democrat governor and a supermajority of Democrats in the House of Delegates and State Senate. Legislators introduced 3,064 bills in the House & Senate (combined), and nine resolutions during the Session. Some bills were good and many problematic.
